Honeycomb core materials include metal honeycomb core materials and non-metallic honeycomb core materials. The metal honeycomb core material is mainly aluminum alloy honeycomb core material. Non-metallic honeycomb core materials include glass cloth honeycomb core materials, paper honeycomb core materials and Nomex honeycomb core materials. Due to its low performance, paper honeycomb core material is basically not used in aircraft structure.
The cell shape of honeycomb core material is mainly hexagonal, and there are also honeycomb core materials that have been stretched, and the cell shape is rectangular. In practical applications, most of them are hexagonal honeycomb core materials, and over-stretched honeycomb core materials are mainly used in sandwich structural parts with single curved surface.
